Scope and Contents
This oral history was conducted by Adam Johnson on December 1st, 2023. The narrators give insight into the organizing strategies of the CWP as they relate to efforts such as the 2009 anti-shackling campaign, the 2015 anti-shackling campaign, and access to Medicaid during incarceration. They emphasize the importance of centering the experiences and voices of formerly incarcerated people, touching on projects related to topics of housing, reentry, and healthcare. Jaya and Tamar discuss the scale of organizing that contributed to the CWP's campaigns.
