Historical Summary
Appointed by Dean Millicent McIntosh in March of 1950, the Committee to Foster Faculty Research was tasked to evaluating the challenges surrounding Faculty research and how to better encourage it. After conducting a questionnaire to gauge the Faculty's opinions, the Committee suggested that the College reduces the teaching, advising, and committees obligations; sets up a fund for Faculty grants of $12,000 a year; grants leaves of absence to members of the teaching staff, among others.
