Historical Summary
Appointed by former president Ellen Futter in 1980, the President's Advisory Committee on Tenure Practices was asked to review the procedures followed in the tenuring of BC faculty; assess the fairness, appropriateness, among others, of the procedures followed; and make recommendations to Barnard's acting president. The Committee was chaired by Professor Emeritus Steve Saulnier and it included three other active Faculty members.
