Scope and Contents
This subseries contains external communications between Mattfeld and donors, personal correspondence, speeches and interviews given by Mattfeld, publicity about Mattfeld, and publications written by Mattfeld. This subseries also contains files related to Mattfeld’s presidential spending, inauguration, trips, appointment and resignation letters, and mandated reporting to the New York State Department of Education

Some materials within this collection are restricted: Material pertaining to individual student records is restricted for 75 years from the date of creation, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Personnel records of faculty and staff (including search, tenure/promotion, and disciplinary/grievance records) are restricted for 75 years from the date of creation. Records of the Board of Trustees and any of its committees (including meeting minutes) are restricted 20 years from the date of creation. Arrangement
Subseries 4.2, External Communications, Speeches, and Publications, is organized in multiple ways. External communications with donors and foundations are grouped both at the box level (for example, Corporate donor correspondence) and at the folder level (for example, Helena Rubenstein Foundation correspondence). The archivist arranged speeches and publications alphabetically by title. Interviews and all other files are arranged chronologically.
