Uganda Research, 1942-2013, bulk: 1966-2010
Scope and Contents
Series 1, Uganda Research, contains materials generated during fieldwork, research materials, correspondence and photographs that Vincent generated during her research in Uganda (1966-1968; 1970; 1988; 1991) and while working elsewhere. Her initial anthropological research focused on the development of the small town of Gondo within the district of Teso in Eastern Uganda, specifically its polyethnicity. She later developed her research to focus on the agricultural development of Gondo. In the late 80s and early 90s, she pivoted to study AIDS in the Rakai and Soroti Districts of Uganda, working with Dr. George C. Bond to co-author and co-edit a variety of conference papers, chapters, and books. Subseries 1.1, Fieldwork, contains original and transcribed field notes; her inquiries conducted with Kenyi (Bantu) and Teso peoples on various topics such as family structures, farming, fishing, hunting, beer, and Big Men; and synthesized summaries of raw anthropological data resulting from her fieldwork. Subseries 1.2, Research materials, consists of annotated secondary sources, research notes, and press clippings. Subseries 1.3, Correspondence, contains letters and emails exchanged between Vincent and other colleagues, students, and her contacts in Teso. Subseries 1.4, Photographs, encompasses photographs Vincent took while conducting fieldwork in Uganda in the late 1960s, and during her subsequent visits.

Language of Materials
Collection materials are predominantly in English. Some materials in Series 1, Uganda Research, feature a Nilotic language that might be Ateso, Luganda, or Lusoga, languages spoken in the Teso region of Uganda, however archivists are not certain.
