Historical Background
The Executive Committee of the Barnard College Board of Trustees includes the Committee chair, Vice-Chair(s), Board president, all Trustee Corporate Officers, and the Chairs of the Committee of the Board and the Committee of the College. According to the Board bylaws, “the Executive Committee shall, in the intervals between meetings of the Board, have all the authority of the Board and may transact any business of the College permitted by law.” The Executive Committee thus responds to pressing matters that may occur outside of regularly-scheduled Board meetings.
