Historical Summary

The First-Year Experience Implementation Committee, formed in 2015, was charged with creating a blueprint for implementing the First-Year Experience recommendations of Foundations, culminating in a report to the Foundations Implementation Steering Committee. The committee proposed renaming First-Year Foundations to First-Year Experience and restructuring its two-semester sequence. Central recommendations included transitioning to full-time faculty staffing, establishing a cross-divisional oversight committee, and supporting faculty with professional development funds, enhanced stipends, and dedicated space.
