Collection Scope and Content Summary

This collection consists of 9 journals and notebooks written by an anonymous donor zinester during the zinester's adolescence. Entries include poetry and letters to friends covering topics such as relationships, politics, and sexuality. Also includes zinester's director notes for video projects.

This collection has restrictions.

The diaries will remain anonymously attributed until 75 years from the date of 12/4/2014, after which the authorship of the diaries can be revealed.

In processing the collection, the archivist identified material in the collection which reveal the identity of the donor. In order to retain the anonymity of the donor, two journals and a notebook have been restricted. Journals include diary entries circa 1995 with notes from friends and entries circa 1999; notebook contains donor's poetry.

Publication Rights

All rights of copyright will remain with the donor and/or the donor's estate. The donor and/or the donor's estate grant advanced permission for the Barnard Archives to permit individuals to quote from the materials. Individuals utilizing the materials who wish to publish and/or profit monetarily from the materials must obtain permissions from the donor and/or the donor's estate.
