This collection consists of a certificate awarded to Mujeres by the Barnard Office of Student Life, a Mujeres Club scrapbook, and archived versions of Mujeres' Facebook page and website. The Barnard BOLD certificate was awarded to Mujeres in recognition of the work that they have done to build community at Barnard.

Historical Background

Mujeres is an organization that supports the leadership and development of Latina women and allies at Barnard College and Columbia University. Mujeres was founded in 1997 to support the leadership of Latinas at Columbia University. In 2016, Mujeres received the Barnard BOLD Award recognizing their commitment to community at Barnard.

Gift of Gabriela Flamenco, 2016.
Permission to crawl and capture website and Facebook page granted by Vivianne Reynoso, 2016.
Initial crawl of website and Facebook page captured in March, 2016. In June 2025, Olivia Sopala transferred digital club records from 2022-2025.

Accruals

Additions are expected. Web crawls of the Mujeres public website and Facebook page began in March, 2016 and will be conducted on a continuing basis.

Processing History

The paper and physical ephemera is arranged topically. The archivist arranged the digital materials chronologically by academic year. Additionally, the archivist completed high-level physical rearrangement to allow the digital materials to be easily integrated into a single system of arrangement. The archivist placed the digital documents, at the highest directory level, into a new folder with a new file name.
