From 1980-1981, The Committee to Meet the Needs of the Disabled (CMND)/Barnard Design for Access (BDA), advised and monitored the activities of facilitites staff and administrative offices to ensure that the funds granted by the Max C. Fleischmann Foudation and The Pew Charitable Trust were utilized as Barnard College stated in its proposals to make the campus physically accessible.

BC05.14, the Center for Accessibility Resources and Disabilty Services (CARDS), has materials related to the grants used to make physical changes and further information about why these changes needed to occur.

Processing History

This collection was rehoused and the description was revised by Olivia Newsome in March 2024. In March 2024, Olivia Newsome moved this collection from a previous record group, BC06 (Faculty Committees), to the current record group, BC19 (Committees), to reflect the fact that this was not a faculty committee. Olivia Newsome also updated the finding aid at this time.
